Greetings!  My name is Judy Hester, EA, Owner of Hester Taxes and Bookkeeping.

My family and I have been residents of this community for almost 30 years. I have been in business and finance for over 33 years and I, continuously, keep abreast on policies and procedures as they pertain to taxes and bookkeeping by attending educational courses and seminars.


                                                                                                                           Hello! My Name is Carmen Hester, CTEC, Notary and owner of Hester Taxes and Bookkeeping.

I was born and raised in the Brentwood, Oakley, Antioch area and I know and love it here. I am a registered tax return preparer and I have over 19 years of bookkeeping experience and over 10 years of QuickBooks experience. I am continually attending seminars and taking educational courses to further my knowledge base. 

  1. Check Your Records-Make sure all your records are correct, to help insure that there are no mistakes on your taxes.
  2. Be On The Look Out-Watch for W-2s, 1099s and any other information you will need to file your taxes that may arrive in the mail.
  3. Gather Your Records Early- It never hurts to keep a tax file going all year. This way you can make sure that you do not lose records that may be needed such as DMV registration notices, bills of sale or receipts.
  4. Has Something Changed- Let us know if something big happens. From births to new jobs and pay raises or anything that may affect your taxes, so at tax time you will be ready.
  5. 6 Month Review- about half way thru the year make an appointment with us to go over your taxes with you. This way you will have an idea of what to expect at tax time.
  6. Give Gifts- Giving to charities may reduce your annual tax bill. Make sure you keep your recfiepts and if you are donating items photos or lists of the items with values help.
  7. File And Pay On Time-File and Pay your taxes on time to avoid fees and penalties. Contact us if you need an extension to file.
  8. Contribute To Your Retirement-Depositing into a qualified retirement plan up to $5000 a year per person can help lower your tax bill.
  9. Organize Your Records- Organize your records for fast and easy tax preparation. If you need help let us know we can help.
